All our tour guides are fun and energetic people with a tremendous knowledge of all the beautiful places we travel to. Did you have an unforgettable time on one of our trips and did you really enjoy your guide? Let us know!
Rhawnie, “Rha Rha” or just “R” for short, is our Lead Guide and one of our most experienced tour guides: she has worked with DCT for going on 9 seasons! Ask her what her favourite tour is and she’ll have a hard time picking, but ultimately the Rockies have her heart. She’s travelled all over the world: USA, Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, Belize, Brazil, Trinidad and Tobago, Suriname, England, Scotland, to name just a few. Fun fact about Rhawnie: She’s ambidextrous! When she’s not guiding you can find her planning her next big excursion, hiking with her dog, or spending time on her yoga mat.
Chris English, “Chrissy” or “English” for short, is an experienced traveller with over 15 countries under his belt. As well-travelled as he is, some of his favourite places are close to home: he loves finding peace and serenity in the silence of the Rockies, swimming in Alta Lake, Whistler; or relaxing in Tofino Hot Springs while the ocean pounds the rocks. When he’s not tour guiding Chris can be found playing soccer, explore powdery snow on his snowboard, cooking beautiful food (like Gordon Ramsay), hanging with friends and going to the gym to keep fit.
Janelle, “Scoot” or “Janell-A” (it’s “window” in Portuguese), has travelled all over the world, but Japan, the Philippines, and New Zealand are probably the closest to her heart. Her favourite tour also happens to be her absolute favourite place in Canada: Tofino, specifically she loves nothing more than to be on the beach with some awesome friends watching the sun set by the fire. When she’s not guiding she can be found at the beach or in the mountains, watching a sunrise or a sunset, writing stories, saving the world (mostly in video games), playing guitar, and going on adventures.
Known as the Queen of Victoria, this guide’s knowledge of her favourite tour destination, Victoria, will blow your mind: ask her anything! Kim has travelled to Mexico, Cuba, Japan, and the USA. She has also been to every province in Canada, but one of her favourite places is close to home: Victoria’s Ogden Point at night during a storm. When she’s not guiding you can find Kim exploring places she’s never been before. All hail the Queen of Victoria!
Jeremie, or Jer, is one of our awesome driver guides who has also been to over 35 countries, including Central and Southern America, Southeast and Eastern Asia, New Zealand, France and more! Jeremie is experienced in all our tours but loves Tofino the most. After Tofino, Waterton Lakes National Park is also a huge favourite in this beautiful country of ours. When Jeremie is not guiding, he enjoys hiking, camping, fly fishing, snowboarding, going to concerts and visiting breweries. If you see Jeremie on a tour, he was born in raised in Montreal, Quebec, so say Bonjour en Francais!
The amazing Michelle came in so strong in 2018 as a new tour guide she won “Rookie of the Year”! Originally from Ecuador, Michelle has travelled Colombia, Australia, Mexico, Taiwan, French Polynesia, and the USA. As tours go the Rockies has her heart, but her favourite place in Canada is also her home of Vancouver, for the “best weather ever!!” Michelle claims she is “much funnier in Spanish.” When Michelle isn’t guiding she can be found doing makeup design for film and television; she loves being able to express herself artistically as it fills her soul!
One of our long-time Ski & Snowboard Trip guides, Mickey Fabbiano – who also goes by Mick, Mickster, Mickmister, or Fabs – loves ANY tour he is on. In his words, “each location is special in its own right but it’s a privilege just to be put on as your Guide!” Mickey has travelled to “JapPow,” meaning Japan, and although he hasn’t been to the mountains there (yet), “the city’s like none other!” As a B.C. boy, born and raised, his favourite part of Canada is a tight race between the water, surfing, scuba diving and sea life of Tofino, and the mountains, summits, snow and peaks of the B.C. Interior. A carpenter by trade, Mickey loves WOOD: “exposed wood grain really gets me going.” When he’s not working or on tour you’ll usually find him outside, whether it’s camping, hiking, snowboarding, snowmobiling, touring… he tries to explore our “backyard” in every and any way possible, as much as possible. Count yourself a very lucky traveller if you end up on a tour with this legendary guide!
One of our long-time Ski & Snowboard Trip guides, Monica – who also goes by “Bear Bait” – is an avid traveller and snow lover! While her favourite tour is Revelstoke, her favourite place in Canada is Tofino – put her on any board and she’s a happy camper. Monica has been to a long list of countries including America, Mexico, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Honduras, Costa Rica, Brazil, Argentina, Haiti, Dominican Republic, Ireland, England, Austria, Germany, Italy, Chzeck Republic, and India. Not short on skills, Monica can remain in a hot tub for a surprisingly long time. When she’s not guiding you can find her getting in to the water or woods for surfs or hikes. She also loves the city and wandering for good food, bevs and tunes.
Say hello to Erik, also known as the “Tree Whisperer” and “Eriky.” Erik’s favourite place in Canada is the Gulf Islands, but he loves the Rocky Mountain tours! Erik has been to the USA, Poland, Greece, and Italy. When he’s not guiding you may find Erik exploring outdoors with his camera, painting, bird watching, drawing, weeding his garden, feeding his fish, and playing music: he plays the bass, banjolele, guitar, and the djembe!
Featured Tour Guide: Katrina!
Katrina, also known as Kat or Katdaddy, is one of our award-winning tour guides, bringing in the most positive reviews on sites like TripAdvisor! She loves all of our tours, but her favourite is definitely the “Rockies, baby!” Katrina has travelled around US, Thailand, Malaysia, Myanmar, Vietnam, Indonesia, and Sri Lanka, and of course Canada. Her favourite place in Canada is Tofino, or at the top of any mountain. Never shying away from adventure, Katdaddy once rode a motorbike over a landslide, in the dark, during a thunderstorm! When she’s not guiding she likes to write, hike, read, draw, or try something she’s bad at! If you’re lucky you’ll see her smiling face on your next tour! 🙂
