All our tour guides are fun and energetic people with a tremendous knowledge of all the beautiful places we travel to. Did you have an unforgettable time on one of our trips and did you really enjoy your guide? Please consider nominating him or her for the Vancouver Tourism Awards.
Rob has traveled the world and likes to take ninja pose – pictures in front of famous landmarks, i.g. the Taj Mahal, the Sydney Opera House, Lake Louise in the Canadian Rockies and many other places! He thinks the best kept secret in Vancouver is Deep Cove, it is quiet, beautiful, and has the best views of the ocean and mountains from the Baden Powell Trail. Apart from being a fantastic tour guide, Rob teaches high school kids and dreams of opening his own dive shop in Belize. And if he ever wins the lottery, he’ll start his own food company in Seattle, called the SPACE NOODLE!!
Jessica (Jess) is an adventure-lover, has lots of energy and parties until she drops! She has mainly been guiding the Rocky Mountains trips. It doesn’t matter to her if it’s winter or summer, nobody beats the beauty of the Rockies! She loves Lake Louise and Banff, bear watching, canoeing, glacier exploring and having a campfire & bbq with new friends. Even though the bus ride to the Rockies is long, you will never get bored with Jessica on tour. Her most hilarious experience was a singing competition on the bus, when somebody became a true Rocky Mountains Idol! Next to guiding tours on the weekends, Jessica lives in Vancouver. According to her, the best kept secret of the city is Crab Park. It’s a great waterfront park with an amazing view! Her favorite spot besides the Rockies and Vancouver would be Nice, France, but she still wants to see lots of other countries.
Kaleigh – aka Superbad – is better than any other tour guide because of her charms and good looks, but according to her actually all Disco Canada tour guides have that. She grew up surrounded by the flat corn fields of Ontario, so seeing any other landscape than that gets her stoked. The Rockies and the two day Whistler trips (of course, including the après ski parties) belong to her favorites. Her most hilarious experience that ever happened to her on tour is seeing a bunch of Brazilian dudes at the New Years party in Banff dancing on the party boxes: “Aren’t those things usually reserved for girls?” When she’s not on tour she works as an activity coordinator at different language schools and lives in Vancouver. The city’s best kept secret is basically anything outside downtown, but especially East Van. If she would ever hit the jackpot, she would kindly divide up her money to give to her friends & family and then probably throw a party.
Kath (nickname: green lady) has been working with Discover Canada Tours since summer 2011. Not only is she one of our tour guides, but she is also working in the company as activity coordinator as well as sales representative. Born and raised in Vancouver, she has travelled throughout British Columbia all her life. Interests in history, culture, and a sucker (haha..) for fun facts and tongue twisters!
Muffty (also known as Shawn) thinks he’s the best tour guide because he loves good times as much as fat kids love smarties! To him there is nothing like sharing your life with friends and having a good time together. He always manages it to turn every boring situation into a crazy party, just go with him on his favourite tour to Seattle and experience it yourself!
Thomas is an educator, (international) tour leader, and conservationist. He has led cultural and adventure tours to over 30 countries and has explored much of Canada. In addition to being an awesome tour guide, Thomas is a scientific research diver and whale watching naturalist. He can tell you all about the mountains, the fish, the whales, and his amazing self. Ask him about being Mr. Gay Canada and competing at Mr. Gay World in South Africa. One of his favorite adventures is to go swimming with great whites!
